catching up | twelve months

Blogging just hasn't been a priority for me lately, so needless to say, I have got a LOT of catching up to do!

I originally started this post on May 30th... 

Today our baby boy turns ONE YEAR OLD! I can hardly believe that twelve full months have passed since we first laid eyes on him. So many emotions have surfaced in the weeks leading up to this milestone. I want so badly to bottle up these days, they are so fleeting. At the same time, I love watching our baby grow, learn and develop his little personality. Each day is more fun than the last, and I am so grateful God chose me to be his mommy. It is truly the hardest, most rewarding job there is!

Things I want to remember about Owen in his twelfth month: 
– he sticks tongue out when he's thinking
– he does a little "twinkle toe" dance where he runs in place (so cute!)
– poor thing had a double ear infection followed by another infection followed by an allergic reaction to augmentin (he broke out in a terrible full-body rash)
– he kisses with his mouth wide open
– he loves the pool
– he loves chasing Grey, giving Grey her ball, sharing with Grey (Grey is his bff)
– he hums a tune/sings
– he loves books & has started to say "book" (still doesn't sound quite like book)
– if he wants you to read to him he comes to you, turns around & sits in your lap
– he's a little more cuddly
– he thinks eskimo kisses are hilariouis
– anytime music is on he dances (bounces up & down and sways back & forth)
– we love his belly laughs
– when we ask him to throw his diaper away he will walk from the living room into the laundry room, open the diaper pail, put the diaper inside, pull down the handle & then open it back up to make sure the diaper is gone
– he is doing other "processes" – like pulling things out & putting them back where they go, etc.
– he copies everything we do
– he laughs at pictures of himself & loves to point out mommy & daddy 

We had Owen's one year well visit last week. His updated stats are: 

1 week // 7.13 pounds (50%) // 20.5" (75%)
1 month // 11.9 pounds (90%) // 22.5" (75%)
2 months // 14.3 pounds (90%) // 24.25" (90%)
4 months // 17.10 pounds (95%) // 26.5" (95%)
6 months // 20.8 pounds (90%) // 28.5" (95%)

9 months // 21.10 pounds (75%) // 29" (90%)

1 year // 25.5 pounds (75-90%) // 31" (90%)

he has changed SO much since his first month!
