the first meeting of future auburn roommates

Yesterday was a big day for the Bailey & Robinson families – the meeting of our sons & future Auburn roommates. Owen & Jack are destined to be best friends, just like their daddies, who grew up together in Dothan.

Jay was the very first person we told when we found out we were expecting – even before our families, who we waited to tell in person. We were in Auburn for the South Carolina game, walking with him to Anders to look for a little something for the baby that he & Mazi were expecting. I can't remember exactly what we said, but it was something to the effect of, "our babies are going to be two months apart!" I'm pretty sure we caught Jay off guard (in a good way), because he was so excited that he immediately got Mazi on speaker phone to share the news. There was lots of screaming!

Mazi & I joke that us both having boys at the same time fits perfectly into our husband's little worlds. We daydream about the fun the four of them will have over the years, doing daddy/son things – and the fun the six of us will have on family trips. We just know the boys will be the best of friends. I only hope/wish that they'll be able to enjoy a Bruce concert with their daddies. Now, that would be perfect.
