This weekend baby. boy. was. celebrated. That's an understatement, as I am slowly coming out of a coma of exhaustion and overwhelming gratitude.
Saturday morning, in Dothan, my mother-in-law's sweet friends hosted a shower/brunch to celebrate Owen. Let me tell you, those women know how to make someone feel loved! I wish I would have taken more pictures, but I was a little pre-occupied with the homemade danish and picturing our baby in the slew of monogrammed outfits he received. I left feeling very loved and can't wait to introduce Owen to that sweet group of women.
On Sunday afternoon, ten of my dearest friends hosted a shower for Owen in Birmingham (at Fran's gorgeous home). I sound like a broken record, but I am truly in awe of the thoughtfulness and love that are so evident in the planning of each of these showers. Here are a few (many) pictures from the day...
the cutest invitation

chalkboard as you walk in the side door

back deck where the outdoor fireplace was decorated with the most beautiful hydrangeas (grandmother gifts) & owen's initials

initials that may just make their way into owen's nursery

drink table on the back deck

every detail was personalized and perfectly planned out.
just a few of the details: old milk glass bottles with blue & green polka-dotted straws to drink limeade or water out of; blue hydrangeas, lanterns with flowers in silver cups, "owen thomas bailey" napkins, blue & green candy, white chocolate carriage pops for each guest, beautiful arrangement in the little wire baby carriage

one of my favorite things – our baby pictures were hung with green & blue ribbon in branches on the signing table

the arrangements were amazing

look at this fun cake! how CUTE is it?
the cake plate that it sat on is just like one that i have (except mine is pink), which was my nana's. brooke knew that using that cake plate would be so special to me – and my mom.

bird theme was so fun & these sandwiches are a fave

white chocolate fountain!

aunt bethy & me – she has been such a trooper & been with me at every shower

nanny & me

thomas-side of the family – aunt laura, baby starke (1 month old!), jeanna, lulu, me, beth

sex and the city gals – beth, me, brooke, fran

sweet friends – jess, beth, me, laura

kim & me

a special gift from my friend, brittany (more about this in a separate post)

my incredibly thoughtful hostesses (minus candi & mazi) – laura, ashley, susan, beth, fran, brooke, callie and jeanna

I am certain that there are no words to explain the gratitude I am feeling – my cup runneth over. A huge thank you to my dear friends for loving me & celebrating baby Owen so well. I am blown away by all of the details & thoughtfulness, and the amount of effort that went into making this day such a special one. I am so undeserving!
Thank you, also, to all of our friends that came out to celebrate our baby boy – I can't tell you how much it means to us!
