it's a BOY!!

That's right – it's a BOY!!

Today at my 16 week appointment we paid a little extra for a gender specific ultrasound. We went back & forth about it this week, but in the end are so glad that we did it! We both loved seeing our growing baby again – even at just the size of an apple the spinal cord was evident & fingers could be easily counted.

Our tech started the ultrasound by measuring the heart rate, which was 145 beats per minute. Hearing a much lower number than last time, Brian & I both looked at each other thinking "boy." She moved the wand just a little and there was proof – the little boy parts.

To say we're shocked would be an understatement. We were thinking girl, hands down. Today was such a fun surprise & we are so excited about this baby boy! Actually being able to say "he" makes this whole pregnancy a lot more real. I hope our baby boy is just like his daddy! Now... to name this little boy!
