"All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation... "

1 Peter 1:3
This morning we attended a dramatic sermon entitled "When Hope Is Gone." Pastor Tim portrayed Peter and told the story of the resurrection from his point of view; the disciple who Jesus said would deny him 3 times before the rooster crowed. He did. Later, in one of Jesus' resurrection appearances Peter repents & affirms his love for Jesus, again, 3 times.
Peter tells the people to repent & be baptized; to place total faith in Him as their Savior. "God saved you by his grace when you believed..." (Ephesians 2:8). Because of God's grace & His amazing gift of His son, we have hope and new life.
We hope you had a great Easter; celebrating the life & resurrection of our Savior, Jesus, and being with loved ones on such a special day.
This year, after church, we enjoyed & hosted an Easter lunch at our house with both sets of parents, my sister, and nephew. What a joy it was to have both families together. Hopefully we'll be able to do this more often; we haven't all be together since our wedding!!
Our lunch menu was ham (first I've ever made solo) with cherries & pineapples, twice baked potatoes, green bean bundles, corn casserole, carrots, rolls, pineapple slices with green jello (my Nana used to make this), banana pudding, bird's nest haystacks, apple cake, and cookies. Yum!!
