pumpkins, birthdays & spiderman

10.22.2008

Last weekend we took Caleb to the pumpkin patch for his annual pumpkin patch pictures... I wish I had the others handy to see how much he's changed over the past 5 years, but we'll just have to imagine for now. On the way there he told us that he didn't want to go because he didn't want us taking his picture anymore, but I beg to differ...

Brian "babysat" for a couple hours in the afternoon. The plan was for him to be able to watch football while Caleb played, but this is what we came back to....

I'm laughing so hard here that my eyes are squinted - Caleb kept jumping in our pictures & for some reason it was hilarious to me!

When we got home we had cake & opened presents....

B got an AU decanter for his bday from Kel & Caleb - he LOVES it!

Sunday morning we had mickey mouse pancakes before we left. They are SO much better than the round ones!!
Before we left C surprised us with this.... I mean Spiderman surprised us, excuse me! This is his Halloween costume. Funny story - the first time Brian came home with me was for Thanksgiving a few years ago. This was also one of the first times he was around children. Caleb decided to wear his Buzz Lightyear Halloween costume during Thanksgiving dinner. Boy was that a treat.... I'm sure Brian wondered it that happened all the time. Well, years later the answer.... Yes! He flew Buzz around the house that night & from then on they've been friends. I think it's partially because B likes a lot of the same things C does, so they can relate. I'm still trying to talk B out of buying a Batman costume to wear around....

B says to mention that his chest looked like this when he was that age...

signing autographs for us

Well, that's our weekend in a nutshell.... Happy Birthday, Dad!
