One of Brian and my favorite places to go is Disney World—even pre-kids. So, when we found out that Brian had to be in Orlando for work we jumped on the opportunity to add a Disney weekend onto the tail-end of the week.
Lulu arrived at the house on Wednesday, which was perfect because that allowed me to have help getting things packed up and getting Elle ready for her weekend at home. Thursday afternoon Lulu & Elle dropped Owen & I off at the airport. We arrived in Orlando around 6 o'clock, rented a car and headed to the hotel. Owen was exhausted(!!), but did really well. We stayed at the Boardwalk—absolutely love it there!
We were welcomed in the room with treats from "Mickey & Minnie" (aka Nanny & Poppy). This is such a special thing that they do to spoil us upon arrival. It's very much appreciated and is also very practical as it allows us to have snacks & drinks waiting!
Room service in bed after a long day...
On Friday morning, Owen and I headed to explore while we waited on daddy to get out of his meeting. We walked across the lake to the Beach & Yacht Club and played on "the beach." The weather was perfect. Then we went to the playground and arcade.
Soon Brian arrived at the Boardwalk. We ate lunch and headed to the Animal Kingdom. Owen's favorite was the Dinosaur land—the playground and the games.
We all enjoyed the safari and seeing all of the animals.
Speaking of animals, while we were gone the girls go out of the fence. Poor Lulu! It was a long 36 hours and we didn't think Willow would make it back, but thankfully, she did!
Baby Elle didn't even skip a beat while we were away!
Friday night we had reservations at Chef Mickey's. It was a fun dinner, but we were all exhausted. Owen was able to meet the classics—Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto!
Saturday we spent the day at the Magic Kingdom. The weather was again perfect, not a cloud in the sky! Owen's loved the Dumbo playground and wore himself slap out that morning—so much so that he napped in the stroller, which is something that he has not ever done (napped in the stroller).
So, while Owen napped mommy & daddy walked around and took in the sights—and took pictures that made it look like we were at the park alone!
Saturday night some friends of ours came to our hotel for dinner. Addie and I worked together for several years and they have since moved to Jacksonville, so they try to drive over when we're in the area. It was a great night catching up! (by the way, that's a Buzz Lightyear gun I'm holding. I realized I had it right before the picture was taken so I assumed the position)
Sunday we went back to the Magic Kingdom. Last year we felt like we didn't get enough time there and decided that on our next trip we would devote two days. Great decision!
Again, Owen wore himself out and took another(!!) nap in the stroller.
We missed our sweet girl so much, but it was such a special trip for the three of us!
See ya real soon, Disney!
Back together...and all is right in the world!
