Last week we went to Disney World! This was Owen's second trip and he definitely loved it more than his first. We had a direct flight from Birmingham to Orlando. Our tiny traveler looks like a pro in his window seat!
We checked into the Boardwalk Inn, first, and found a big goodie bag full of all of our favorites. Owen loved that he got his own bed.The rest of our family did not get to Orlando until later that first night, so we went to Downtown Disney for a bit. The lego store did not disappoint. We saw the hulk, Woody & Buzz, a sea monster, a dragon, and Snow White with the seven dwarfs.
Owen spotted this as he and his daddy were walking out of one of the stores—the three little pigs and big, bad wolf! (Notice that he has not put his laser down)
Friday morning we were off running to Hollywood Studios—the Boardwalk makes it so easy to get to via boat.
First, we had breakfast with the Disney Junior characters—Sophia, Jake, Handy Manny and Doc McStuffins.
Caleb and Owen enjoyed the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground even more this year than in 2012.
Mommy and Owen got to meet Mike and Sully! (Notice that Owen is holding his hand out like Sully)
Poppy grabbed a snack with us while we waited on the rest of the crew to ride the Tower of Terror. Snacks are so much better when served out of Lightning McQueen!
The Toy Story ride came highly recommended, so we grabbed a fast pass. It was amazingly well done. I wish we could have ridden over and over again.
Friday night we ate across the pond at the Beach Club. This is the view looking back at The Boardwalk.
Brian and I walked to Epcot after dinner to check out some of the topiaries at the Flower and Garden Festival. Again, they did not disappoint.
Saturday morning we went to the Magic Kingdom. Oh, I just love this place—it truly is magical. We really should have spent two days here, but hopefully we'll be back soon! Side note—Aunt Kelly made sure that we all got matching shirts to wear to the Magic Kingdom. Ha!
Unfortunately, Brian only got to ride the Haunted Mansion once this trip—we did make sure to get his traditional photo!
My friend, Addie, and her family moved to Florida not to long ago. They met us at the Magic Kingdom and we planned to spend the day with them, but had a few unforeseen kinks in our plans :(
After dinner on Saturday night we went back to the Magic Kingdom. The weather was absolutely perfect and lines were a little shorter. I love that my parents have this same photo of us when we were little, that Brian and I have this same photo of our trips and now we have photos of Owen with us!
We started Sunday morning with a character breakfast at the Animal Kingdom. Daisy came around first and Owen tried his "mad" face on her. We met Mickey, Goofy, and Donald too. Owen often says "Oh Fooey" like Donald does, so it was funny to hear him say it to him that morning.
Owen found another playground, the Boneyard, at the Animal Kingdom. The dino area and the safari were both a lot of fun!
We met Tigger and Pooh and Owen told him about how he soaked his shoes at the playground. Ha!
On our last night, we went to the Yacht Club for dinner and let Owen play at the "beach" while we waited for our reservation time. This just confirmed what we already knew—we need to take the kid back to the beach soon!
Our trip was so very wonderful! We only wish that we could have stayed longer! I am so thankful for my parents who spent their 35th wedding anniversary celebrating in Disney with all of us!
