Being Owen's mommy has been the single most rewarding and challenging role of my life. I had always heard other parents explain it that way, but I never quite knew what that meant.
I cannot imagine our lives without Owen. So often my thoughts drift back to pregnancy – I think about who Owen is now and what we prayed for and imagined of him while he was in my womb. Thoughts like these take my breath away and have me standing in aww of our Creator. I am so honored that He chose me to be this little boy's mommy. My prayer is that Brian & I will always make the best decisions for our little boy, that he will see our love for one another, and that he will know His Father's love early on.
My boys completely spoiled me this Mother's Day and made me feel like a queen. My cup runneth over.

There are two things Owen surprised me with this week, both of which I never want to forget...
The first happened on Monday. Owen and I were on the couch after school and he kept hiding under the blanket, wanting me to "find him" – "Where's Owen?" Anyway, he put the blanket over his face and then took it off – "Mama, lub yew!" Completely unprompted.
*Although, now I feel like he may have said, "Mama, where are you?" I'm going to remember it as the first :)
The other happened when I was singing "Jees" (Jesus Loves Me) to Owen. Tonight I rocked him, and rocked him for a long time while singing. He had his head on my shoulder and in mid-song looked at me, grabbed my face with his hands, kissed me, and put his head back down.
Oh, this boy just melts my heart!!

my two favorite mothers – my sis & my mom. i never fully appreciated them until i became a mother myself.
