Owen is 9 1/2 months old! Someone commented today that he's "almost a year old." ONE. YEAR. OLD. That sounds crazy. What's also crazy is the amount of planning I have already begun for his first birthday party.
We had Owen's nine month well visit last week. His updated stats are:
1 week // 7.13 pounds (50%) // 20.5" (75%)
1 month // 11.9 pounds (90%) // 22.5" (75%)
2 months // 14.3 pounds (90%) // 24.25" (90%)
4 months // 17.10 pounds (95%) // 26.5" (95%)
6 months // 20.8 pounds (90%) // 28.5" (95%)
1 month // 11.9 pounds (90%) // 22.5" (75%)
2 months // 14.3 pounds (90%) // 24.25" (90%)
4 months // 17.10 pounds (95%) // 26.5" (95%)
6 months // 20.8 pounds (90%) // 28.5" (95%)
9 months // 21.10 pounds (75%) // 29" (90%)
Doctor McCain says he is perfect! We think so, too.
After talking to her about our routine & growing baby, we changed some things with Owen's routine. The changes have made the BIGGEST difference & are truly game-changing for us all. He had fallen into what we thought was a "habit" of waking up between 5-5:30am every morning. Doctor McCain told us there is no reason for him to get up that early. So after a little trial & error, we figured out that he's not waking up out of habit but rather because he is hungry. We knew he was hungry & still sleepy, but everything finally clicked after talking to her. We've added some ounces & an additional bottle to his daily intake – and wa-la! Now we have a baby that sleeps until 7-7:15am each morning. (knock on wood!!) He is waking up feeling more rested, and we are too! As a mother, I feel so guilty that I didn't make the adjustments sooner!
Things I want to remember about Owen in his ninth month:
– he loves water
– he is eating table food almost exclusively (loves green beans, scrambled eggs, turkey, sweet potatoes, lima beans, strawberries, grapes, blueberries, carrots...)
– he sleeps from 7pm-7am (yay!!)

Things I want to remember about Owen in his ninth month:
– he is still *about* to start walking on his own
– he is standing by himself a lot these days, but has not taken a step on his own– he loves water
– he is eating table food almost exclusively (loves green beans, scrambled eggs, turkey, sweet potatoes, lima beans, strawberries, grapes, blueberries, carrots...)
– he sleeps from 7pm-7am (yay!!)
– he's still in size 3 diapers & size 4 at night
– he's size 12-18 months in *most* clothes (18-24 months in pjs)
– he moved into a new class at school, creeper 1, and is doing great
– he plays the copy-cat game a lot (he makes a sound, we make the sound, he repeats, we repeat...)
– he is shy around "strangers"
– he's incredibly curious
– he loves being outside & usually escapes to the backyard when the door is open
We are so thankful for this little fireball!
