Next week Owen will be nine months old! Before we reach that milestone, let's talk about Owen's eighth month...
– he is *about* to start walking on his own
– he has mastered walking with the walker & does laps around our living room– he stands on his own for a few seconds, but when he realizes he's not holding on he sits down
– he has become more & more attached to mommy & daddy
– some days, he "cries" for a second when we leave him at daycare (this is not fun)
– he loves bath time, which is usually daddy/owen time
– he loves food (always has), but does not like spaghetti or chicken/veggie mixes out of the jar (he actually gags)
– he says "mama" & waves/says "bye bye"
– he got his second stomach bug this month & gave it to mommy and daddy
– on good nights he sleeps from 7pm-6:30am (we loathe wet diapers – they are usually what gets him up in the middle of the night)
– he's still in size 3 diapers & size 4 at night
– he's size 12-18 months in most clothes
– at our last sick appointment he weighted just under 22 pounds
– he's very in-tune to his surroundings & knows when something has changed
– when he sees his night-time bottle or hears the microwave, he goes nuts & heads straight for it
– he snorts when he laughs & scrunches his nose
– he wears shoes everyday now (size 4)
– his feet look like fred flinstone's :)
Our baby Owen does not seem so much like a baby anymore, but more like a little boy. I am teary just thinking about how quickly he has changed. I have begun planning his FIRST birthday (are you surprised?), which doesn't seem possible. Each moment with him (and with his daddy) is so precious to me. I love that I see Brian in him, and I love watching Brian with him. Every day is not easy, but I do feel thankful everyday for this little family God has blessed me with.
Now – picture overload!
Now – picture overload!
