owen's first week (and then some)

The first week of Owen's life has come and gone, and yet it's still hard for me to believe that he is here (home) with us. My fear is that with one blink of an eye we will be singing him "Happy Birthday" at his first birthday party or attending his kindergarten orientation.

I've sat down several times to write (type) out Owen's birth story, so as to not forget even the smallest detail – which reminds me, I need to finish that... I want to remember how surreal that day was, how my water broke about fourteen hours before we were scheduled to go in to start the induction, all the special visitors that came to see Owen, and how indescribable that first week was. Nothing could have prepared us for the adventure we're on – no matter how many books we read or friends we talked to.

A big, huge thank you to our moms and my sister (and nephew) for staying with us and helping us transition from a family of 2 to a family of 3 (plus the girls).
