We were in Auburn this past weekend to celebrate the nuptials of our friends Callie & Bradley. Brian & Beth were both in the wedding, which made it all the more special for our family/friends.
Let me pause quickly to say that no matter how many times we find ourselves in Auburn the memories still hit like a brick wall as we cross those train tracks into downtown on College Street. We both commented to each other on this feeling... then there was silence. All of my time at Auburn sped through my mind, on fast forward, and as we passed through town all of the "spots" with any (or no) significance sparked memories that made me feel like I was just living there. It's really an unexplainable feeling... yet at the same time you know what I'm talking about, don't you? I feel so lucky to share that same love for Auburn with my husband. This makes the trip back all the more meaningful, and makes me look forward to creating memories with him & our family for years to come!
Both Brian & I took the day off on Friday so that we could "enjoy" Auburn and settle in until the wedding festivities began. First things first – lunch at Amsterdams. This is a place that sparks so many memories for both of us, but for us as a couple, this was the first place we went together. It was July 5, 2005 & I was in town selling some of my hand-tinted photos to Anders Bookstore. I was staying with Beth, but she was hosting a wedding shower that night so Brian took me to dinner while she was tied up. There's a lot more to the story, but as they say, the rest is history...

We went to pick up Brian's suit and on the way back we stopped at SnoBiz. I cannot tell you how much I love this place... let's just say that this weekend I tried to convince Brian that SnoBiz could be our ticket back to Auburn. It's for sale! Would that be crazy?

Before we knew it we were at The Bank Vault (formerly Bodega) for the After-the-Rehearsal Party.

Saturday Katie & I drove around Auburn and spent a lot of time shopping & eating downtown. Have I already mentioned how much I love that place? We got to the church a little early and were able to hang out with the wedding party for a little while before the ceremony started. Let me tell you... Callie was a gorgeous bride!! My only regret is that I didn't take more pictures of her! The reception was at Saugahatchee Country Club; it was beautiful & so much fun.

I get the same feeling everytime I go to Auburn. Nothing like it! My brother also wants to buy the Sno-biz. Ha!
