We were on "Lake Laura" (which is the affectionate name for the pond named after Brian's aunt Laura) this weekend. Lee & Laura's camp house is on some land that they own in Coy, Alabama (basically Camden). It's the perfect place to go for a relaxing getaway or if you just want some time in the woods. There is plenty to do & a lot of "manly toys" to play with. (see below)

Last weekend was Willow's first trip to Camden & she loved it. Grey was in heaven too, because she had Flora (Clay & Jeanna's shih tzu) to play with. Roux (Lee & Laura's baby) was glad they were all preoccupied so she could do this...

Before the rain came through on Saturday Brian & Lee did their part to help control the fish growth & population – feeding & fishing (respectively). Lee has done a great job stocking the pond & making it green & pretty!

I loved this green boat... and I loved seeing Lee in his tall boots, shorts & hat. Had to get a picture of him with that little fish!

Meanwhile, Willow decided to be a big girl & walk down the steps!! This is something she hasn't quite mastered at home. Guess if you want something bad enough...

Later, in a moment of bravery, we decided to let the girls roam free. Free, but with a GPS collar that is. We put it on Grey & hoped that they would stay together. And they did... until they didn't. That's when the 4-wheeler came in handy. Long story short, the GPS collar is worth it's weight in gold. Grey was exactly where it said she was. And Willow was back at the camp house, waiting on the doorstep for someone to open the door & let her in. Good girl!
This is right after the collar was put on her... when she was testing the waters (literally).

And this was her view from the dock...

Thank you Lee & Laura for letting us visit – we had a very fun, relaxing weekend!
ps – next time I'll take pictures of the rest of the gang!

If I had a dollar for every time I have needed a GPS collar for Sabyl, I could have paid for it ten times over. What a fantabulous idea! I didn't even know they made those! :)
That's some fish he caught ;)
Hm, maybe that's what my child needs... a GPS collar. ;)
