"Running is a big question mark that's there each & every
day. It asks you, 'Are you going to be a wimp or
are you going to be strong today?'" -Peter Maher

I did it!! I ran the Country Music 1/2 Marathon on Saturday. Running 13.1 miles (in a race) has been a HUGE goal of mine & I am so proud (and sore)!

Seven years ago was the first time I set the goal. I talked my friend Erin into signing up for the Disney 1/2 with me - she ran it, but my training was interrupted & I didn't. Five years ago my goal was to run the Country Music 1/2 with Jenny - she wanted to run one before her 30th birthday, and she did. Over & over again I have set this goal for myself - and finally I have accomplished it! Yay!

A big thank my sweet husband who, had he signed up, could have blown me out of the water. Races are usually too early in the morning for B, and Saturday was no exception - but he woke up with me at 4:30AM, waited on me while I ran & took pictures to document the day.

Next goal: to get Brian to run a 1/2 with me:)

EARLY in the morning, preparing for the run
taking my place in my corral
at the end, the finish line in sight
with my medal - so happy I did it!!
The best thing about the race being in Nashville is that we were able to spend some time with the Twiford family! We had a great time with Rachel & Drews at lunch - he's such a big boy!! Look how cute Rachel is - I can't wait to meet the sweet baby girl she's got in that belly!

After lunch we got in the car & drove to Atlanta. We spent Saturday night & Sunday afternoon on the porches of restaurants with the Robinson's. The weather this weekend was incredible & we took full advantage. The reason we went to Atlanta wasn't to enjoy the weather though, but because the Boss was in town. Brian & Jay went to see Bruce Springsteen on Sunday night - this was their 6th consecutive concert together & B's 9th concert total. Crazy, huh?! It was well worth the drive, as Jay was able to get hooked up with some great seats.

Brian says he's going to post more about the weekend later - stay tuned!
