Jenny's Light

12.19.2008

One year ago today we lost an amazing woman (friend/wife/daughter/sister/mother) to postpartum depression (phychosis). This year, today on the anniversary, candles are lit to remember Jenny & Graham (her son, whose life was also taken). I have posted about this before, but if you don't know the story you can find it at jennyslight.org. Jenny's Light is a non-profit organization that was created to help women, just like our Jenny, get the help they need by increasing awareness of all perinatal mood disorders. Support, stories, volunteer opps, and ways to donate can be found on this site too.

Today I remember Jenny as one of my best friends, someone who LOVED life, who loved people, animals, someone that brought joy to others, someone whose life was incredibly too short. I say all of this to emphasize the normalcy of Jenny, her personality, her character. The illness Jenny suffered from is 100% treatable, when help is given. Jenny's Light has already raised over $100,000 & has/is doing so much to help other moms, like Jenny, get the help they need. If you are looking for a good cause this Christmas, please consider Jenny's Light!!
Graham & Jenny
December 19th. Today is a tough day, a day that makes my heart hurt so badly, nothing will fill the void that was Jenny. Here's Jenny & Graham's memorial video, which helps keep their memories alive!! It has received over 6,000 hits on utube - wow, you were SO very loved, Jenny... I miss you terribly!

Life is so incredibly precious - let's all challenge ourselves to let the people that we care about most know how loved they are!

Please keep Chip (Jenny's husband) in your thoughts today, pray for comfort & strength as he relives the events of one year ago & continues to move forward.

I can't believe it has been a year...

I loved the note from Becky with the quotes of the day... I used to make fun of Jenny for being so anal about sending them!
